Hospital Repairs Needed!

Hospital Repairs Needed!

Dear Praying Partners,

“See a need; meet a need” is a simple creed that has challenged me over the years to put my faith in action. The book of James tells us that “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”  I was made aware of a need at the La Gonave Mission Hospital during my trip to Haiti in November 2014 but had not thought about it again until January of this year.  The new hospital was completed during our time serving as missionaries in Haiti while I was building the new guesthouse.  The hospital is run on 100% solar power with generator backup. Several features were included in the design of the facility to keep the patients cool in the absence of fans and air conditioning.  One of these designs was an awning around the wards to keep the sun off the concrete block walls. This kept the sun from warming the block walls and radiating the heat into the patient rooms.  The harsh climate of Haiti has wreaked havoc on this shade structure and a more “climate proof” design needs to be installed as soon as possible to beat the arrival of the hottest months in Haiti.

I will be leading a team of volunteers to Haiti April 2nd – 9th to make the needed repairs to the hospital.  Funds for the project are being generated through private donations and local churches.  The total amount needed is $8,000 and we have raised $6,800 to date.  The materials are being ordered today (3/23) and should be waiting on our arrival.  Our team leaves in 10 days!

Will you prayerfully consider donating to help us reach our goal?
